1. What are you most proud of in your lesson, and why?
- I was most proud of my hook activity because I was able to intrigue my audience with dramatic statistics of how people in developing countries can't afford glasses at a cost as low as a dollar. I was also proud at the fact that I was able to present without a script in front of me; basing my presentation on my experience and knowledge with my topic so far.
2. What assessment would you give yourself on your lesson? Explain why you earned that grade using evidence from the component contract.
- I would give myself a P only because I meet the requirements on the contract. I know that I could have received an AE if I rehearsed for my presentation days before so I could speak smoothly without any "umm's" and "uhhh's". I was confident with my research and sources, but I got very nervous when I stood in front of the class.
3. If you could go back, what would you change about your lesson? How can you use that knowledge to give a better Lesson 2?
- If I could go back I would re-organize how I would talk in my presentation. My transitions would be the main thing I would change in order to keep my audience alive and attentive during my presentation. I would also want to bring a more intriguing prop that would relate to my topic, but it would still keep people from falling asleep. One last thing I would want to do is restrict the amount of talking. I want to have small activities to keep the audience awake as I'm presenting.
I see what you mean about restricting the amount of talking, but just make sure you meet the minimum.
